Dood
Anyone else think the price of the rack shelves are extortionate - and has anyone come up with a cheaper way of rack mounting the head?
wotnwhy
Just googled it, and for literally a piece of folded metal and four rubber rings the price is monkey flippin insane!

stevebasshead
Ages ago I took my old Trace out of it's wooden sleeve and rackmounted it with a handful of bits of meccano. Perfect
Dood
+ Total = £22
I reckon something like that would do nicely - I'll have to look if they do 'shallow rack' sized shelves as well. _ i'd also consider drilling four holes in and mounting the amp via rubber washers direct to the shelf. Just to be safe.
Ages ago I took my old Trace out of it's wooden sleeve and rackmounted it with a handful of bits of meccano. Dood
I'm looking out for a slotted rack shelf so that it won't be necessary to drill out or use sticky pads or anything. When I find one which is the right size, I will let you guys know as I think it will be a benefit and a massive cost saver!

Dood
This is what eBay has to offer - I'm just seeing which is most likely to take the RH450 either by physically screwing to or using some really nice long cable ties as straps! warwickhunt
I have 3 of those metal rack trays if any RH450 owners are interested; not looking for a massive amount for them. I did a very similar thing to rackmount the head unit from a H&K bassbase combo, if you don't trust your ability to mark and drill the holes accurately you simply get a handful of large washers and you can get them to fit! I'm using a short rack case and can not go over 300mm deep. I can go to a maximum of 2u safely though. So if either of you can help, that'd be brilliant! Ideally, I am looking at a 2u tray that is around 250mm deep - there's one I have spoted on ebay (in the list above). However I don't think it has any guide holes in - Yes, I'll be getting the drill and rubber washers out for sure! Thank you guys - I f*cking love BassChat, what a community! warwickhunt
£5 + postage and I'll get a pic if it is of any interest... though I would imagine a free tray is obviously top contender at the moment.

warwickhunt
Standard rackmount width, 1U high, 2 rackmount holes each side 365mm deep. It has a small lip at the front and at the rear of the base (manufactured like that) and has had 4 small holes drilled into it to hold a pair of receivers.
