I'll pass on this one ... I really wanted the 15-string so I don't have to keep de-tuning to get a low D.

I wasn't aware that Ampeg made a 12 string bass.

I posted a link to that Chandler Royale months ago - I'm very surprised nobodies bought it at that price.
Awesome bass but I suppose the market for 12vers is pretty limited.
I used to have a Hamer 12ver - wish I still had it.

8 stings are more managable - try to play too quickly on a 12 and it quickly does an impersonation or someone throwing a load of plugged in guitars down a flight of stairs
