GarethFlatlands
I have an old (ridiculously heavy) Vintage 5 string sat in my room gathering dust. It needs new pots and a re-wire but the main problem is the pickups. They sit way too far from the strings due to the stupidly deep routing. What would people recommend for raising the height of them? I don't have any tools or wood to make blocks to sit under them, which would have been my first choice. Thanks. GarethFlatlands
Thanks, mousemat foam might be the way forward. Pic below to show roughly what the problem is:- [attachment=59369:IMGP0201.JPG] I'll hit maplin tomorrow for a cheap mat as well as some other stuff (got a Crybaby sat waiting to be modded). Ou7shined
Wow that's a fair old gap. You want to bring the pole pieces up to about 4mm below the string.
GarethFlatlands
Yeah, the output is really weak unsuprisingly. I've ordered some mini pots for the cavity so I'll sort it all out in one go when everything arrives.
