paul, the
I'm surprised BassChat doesn't do awards yet with yearly recommendations. I thought we could shake up the market a bit by discovering a few unknown gems and destroying stereotypes. Best value at various levels, best looker, bass of the year, amp of the year, life-time award etc. Maybe some comedy ones too. A chance for voting? Perhaps if not for 2007; ongoing threads with suggestions for 2008? Thoughts?

Buzz
Good thought will have to be given to the categories, as we all can agree, looks and sound are subjective to such a hugh degree, whereas things like most features, most innovative and best value for money bass/amp are easy. Also another +1 for the Squier VMJ Series being best value for money basses. I'd also vote Squier for the company showing the most promise at the moment with scope for improvement, with Berhinger coming in second oddly enough. Tait
if we're talking best value for money basses i'd put in a vote for the ibanez sr500. after all, it was about destroying steroetypes and discovering unknown gems. the sr500 is hugely underrated.
