+1 it did look and sound fab - on the very first shot of him he yanked the neck up though!!

I was also going to ask this. Im not sure i liked the tone but it did seem to fit the song perfectly.

I think he yanked the neck during each verse after playing the same line. He certainly did it more than once.

Saw the Jolly Boys at Electric Picnic, they were a great way to start off a Friday evenings festivaling! I thought he was sitting on a bass drum until I saw them last night, that's what I call laid back precussion!

I thought the song was ok but whenever the guitarist let lose it sounded like my 6 year old having a punch up with his violin, and not in a good way.

Ok, I don't often want to listen to Nick Cave, but all that noise and dissonance creates a sound and feel that communicates a certain sort of emotion in a way that sweet clean arpeggios could never do.

I liked the Nick Cave stuff, especially the very intense second track. That dissonant guitar style is used a lot by his guitarist/ violinist - I appreciate it's not to everyone's taste - boring and run of the mill it ain't though!

I may have a spare ticket to see Grinderman in a couple of week's time in London but I don't think I will be bowled over by the rush of BassChatters!

Grinderman/Nick Cave was the best thing by a long way for me (although Scissor Sisters were occasionally fun) - the show needed something feral & demented to counterbalance the po-faced, sickly aural gloop that the rest of it was. Just awful.

Yeah I watched the programme this morning with my 'sounds' on and although it wasn't really tuneful.he was getting some real deep bass from that thing.it seemed to be metal 'prongs' which he twanged with his fingers.They (the prongs) were attached to a large resonator.Probably some W.Indian invention.Not a lot of available notes though,by the look of it.

PS,listening to Grinderman as I type this.I honestly do not get this.At all!

I thought they were the best thing on the show, closely followed by the Scissor Sisters. Rumur had a lovely voice - very reminiscent of KAren Carpenter, Brandon Flowers was very dull indeed, although the first track wasn't too bad.
