Tegs
Pretty sure it was a Gibson, anyone know what model? It looked and sounded great!
kingofthestuntmen
Only caught a glimpse in passing, but I'd say a Les Paul Recording or a Triumph. Gibbo's ain't my area of expertise...

dave_bass5
I was also going to ask this. Im not sure i liked the tone but it did seem to fit the song perfectly. I think he yanked the neck during each verse after playing the same line. He certainly did it more than once. evilLordJuju
Yes, it is a Les Paul Triumph bass. Fantastic basses...
Tegs
Yes, nice looking bass. Fairly rare from what google tells me, and favoured by Guigsy of Oasis Saw the Jolly Boys at Electric Picnic, they were a great way to start off a Friday evenings festivaling! I thought he was sitting on a bass drum until I saw them last night, that's what I call laid back precussion!

mart
Ha ha, lighten up guys! You sound like a bunch of middle aged grumpies in the 1950s complaining about that Elvis stuff being nothing but noise! Ok, I don't often want to listen to Nick Cave, but all that noise and dissonance creates a sound and feel that communicates a certain sort of emotion in a way that sweet clean arpeggios could never do. Live and let live!

jezzaboy
That E bay Gibson is really tasty. I like how the guy says he knows nothing at all about guitars but thinks that the saddles may have been changed. Jez

Clarky
I liked the Nick Cave stuff, especially the very intense second track. That dissonant guitar style is used a lot by his guitarist/ violinist - I appreciate it's not to everyone's taste - boring and run of the mill it ain't though! I may have a spare ticket to see Grinderman in a couple of week's time in London but I don't think I will be bowled over by the rush of BassChatters! Bassassin
Grinderman/Nick Cave was the best thing by a long way for me (although Scissor Sisters were occasionally fun) - the show needed something feral & demented to counterbalance the po-faced, sickly aural gloop that the rest of it was. Just awful. Jon.

PS,listening to Grinderman as I type this.I honestly do not get this.At all!

Rumur had a lovely voice - very reminiscent of KAren Carpenter, Brandon Flowers was very dull indeed, although the first track wasn't too bad.
