umcoo
Hi chums, Surprised I can't find much online about this, but I'm looking to see what type of wood was used for Jazzes in the 1960's when it was a solid colour. I'm thinking it's either Alder (quite likely) or Ash, but I believe Ash was for bursts and blonde basses. Ta

dlloyd
Alder unless a blonde finish, in which case it would be ash.

Mr Rabble
Alder 99% Fender used almost exclusively Alder during the sixties
Davo-London
Yes Alder and Brazilian Rosewood (fretboard) until CBS put a stop to that in 1965. Davo
