Ash burns well and for ages, but wouldn't want to start a fire with it.
Just spotted this one myself ... I was going to put it under JapCrap but for all I know it's his uncle's vintage Fender that he found in the attic.

It's JapCrap or KoreaDiarrhoea - looks a lot like the suspected Columbus I had a few months back & flogged chez BC, only a bit more cracky. Baseball bat neck on that one but it played really nice.

Actually, looking at the inlays & square heel, might be an early MIK Hohner.

Nice bit of grain there, a job for Ou7shined i reckon!
:)
I totally would do but I'm snowed under with about 5 or 6 other projects at the moment.... and the missus would hit the roof if another bass carcase appeared. :)

If anyone is thinking about it, to do a proper job, I'd imagine that it might need a re-fret as it look like the fret markers have been rubbed back which means the fretboard needs re-lacquering - the simplest and cleanest thing to do would be to whip off the frets and do it. It's not a big job - just a bit scary.
