They use the big carriers but at a better price than going direct. Quote
warwickhunt Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I've shipped cabs with Interparcel but I'd double check on the maximum weight (normally around £15 if you don't need extra insurance). I recall shipping a Tecamp Neo 6x10 and it was about £40 due to the extra insurance. Quote

Conan Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 It's a classic case of swings and roundabouts... If you buy and old, used, cheap cab and get it couriered then yes - the shipping might be as much as the cab itself! But as the value of the item increases, so the relative cost of the shipping gets less! I shipped an extremely heavy Ampeg head (as heavy as many cabs!) to Eire and it came to less than forty quid, even including enhanced insurance. At the end of the day, if you want something but can't collect it yourself, then you have to pay someone else. Think of it this way - its still cheaper than driving there and back! Quote
spinynorman Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I've been surprised how little difference weight and size make, it's value (insurance) that racks the price up. Just don't use Parcelforce. Quote
optimus Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Apologies for the thread resurrection, but this seems a good place to ask. I've found an old combo cabinet I'm interested in buying (somewhat as an experiment) but it's located about 5 hours away from me so I'm looking to get it collected and delivered to myself by a courier. It's a 1x15 size and is on castors, so was thinking off asking the seller to wrap in bubble wrap and leave the castors exposed. Anybody got any suggestions on whom to use? I've previously had car alloy wheels colected and delivered by Shiply but unsure if theres somebody else Basschatters would recommend? Quote
