I thought I'd share my latest acquisition with you; a 76 P Bass I picked up for a VERY good price :)

It's been well played over the years, but the frets are fine, electrics are all-original and apart from looking a bit tatty it's in perfect working order. There's a lot of wear on the top edge, on the G-side of the neck (a wedding ring I guess) and some lacquer crazing- all purely cosmetic.

Weight-wise I would say it's just over 8lbs which is a great result! It's also the best playing and sounding P Bass I've ever played. I know that 70's P's can be a bit iffy but this one is great and has gone straight to the top of the pecking order.

I bought some Fender ashtray covers for it, but will sell them on as I prefer the bass without them. Very happy indeed

Hey Nick,
That looks lovely & original, lucky :)

If those ash trays are going cheap I'll have them off you, wanting to try a set & now I've got a P bass to try them on.

Cheerz, John

Nice one Nick! I know you've had a hankering after a vintage P for ages. For all my (somewhat embarrassing!) juggling of my bass collection the only definite/keeper is my 72P.
