Ft/fs Warwick Corvette Proline 6, High Polish Blue Flamed Maple

Up for sale is my February 2007 Warwick Corvette Proline 6. Better spec than the bog standard bubinga German corvette and now discontinued, and would cost a hefty bit of dough to buy through the custom shop if you wanted to buy a new one now.

Stunning bass, completely converted me to the Warwick sound, i just don't think i can convince myself any longer that i can play a 6 string!

Here's the blurb from Warwick:

Corvette ProLine

This instrument's trademarks are its well-balanced attack and starting transient, with a consistently clear deep bass register, a warm gently growling mid-range and pleasant soft highs. The Corvette ProLine's body consists of two pieces of hard, Flamed Maple. A Wenge fingerboard is glued to the five-piece Ovangkol neck, which slots neatly into the body and is secured by four bolts in individual recessed metal bushes. The Corvette ProLine stands up to aggressive playing styles, yet can deliver the most subtle nuances in precise, gentle techniques. The MEC pickup combination driven by the switchable, active MEC 2-way electronics and three controls provides a wide range of tones suitable for live or studio performances.

This model is still available with Standard option through the Custom Shop !

Bolt-on
6-string
Fretted Right Hand
Flamed Maple body
Ovangkol neck
Wenge fingerboard
Scale length: 34" (long scale)
24 frets
Active MEC Soapbar H/H pickups (6-string)
Active MEC 2-way electronics
Finish: Blue Stain High Polish Finish
Warwick tuners
2-piece Warwick bridge
Warwick security locks
Gold hardware
Just-A-Nut III
Weight: 4,5 kg (6-string)

A fantastic bass, now discontinued of course, i believe that this could well have been one of the last Prolines made (if its not a custom shop model, which i assume it isn't). Massive tonal variation between the two pickups, which are upgraded to active MEC's as standard on the 6 string model. Lovely condition, very small nick on the headstock and a couple of unphotographical(?) surface scratching as normal, but basically mint condition. The maple on this bass is stunning :)

Here's a thread showing a couple of photos taken by Mark at Bass Direct

Whoops sorry, thought I'd said in the original post!

I paid £899 a few months ago, so that's what the price shall be for now, I will however listen to offers :)

Had a bit of foreign interest which now appears to have fizzled out so very much still available!

Withdrew this in October pending further 6 string practice. Still hasn't really happened, so once again up for trade for 4 or 5 stings please.

Not too interested in cash at the moment as the market is all over the place, but lets look at trade values around £750 market value :)

It really is, just wish i could magically make it a 4 string and i wouldn't even dream of selling it!

Bump

Definitely more interested in 4 strings rather than 5 now, and obviously would prefer a Warwick but keep hitting me with your offers :)

Now with more photos, none do the maple justice but i'm sure it at least gives you an idea :) Any more specific shots and i will do my best to acommodate, only got a phone cam though!

Flash making marks look like scratches in some pics, bit dusty in that last pic, whoops! If i get my hands on a better camera i will take some good photographs, she's in beautiful condition :)

Basschat Cash price £720 collected from Warwick, buyer pays actual shipping fees otherwise, no offers please :) Trades for 4 strings still very much considered. Will withdraw from ebay if the right offer comes in

Cheers

Bump, still very much looking for trades for other Warwick's, 4 strings only though at the moment!

Sorry for the amount of bumps, but this forum just moves so fast its stupid :)

£720 collected, i would rather avoid shipping as i have no hard case for her but would very much be up for meeting at a train station somewhere to hand deliver the bass for a little extra :)

Really need this bass sold!

Bump

I'm already making a £180 loss on this bass after less than 12 months ownership, so really can't afford to lower the price any more, its a fantastic bass that would have been about £2k new.

I can't really play it, but i will be forced to keep it if it doesn't sell for what i'm asking.

And another bump. Got alot of watchers on ebay this time, but of course would much rather sell on here!

Go on, you know you want to :)
