Cube 30 or Micro Cube Bass RX ?

I'm looking for either a Roland Bass Cube 30 or the Micro Cube Bass RX, as all I really need now is a practice amp of very little volume.
However (you knew it was coming, didn't you ?), which sounds less boxy ?

I know I'm never going to be getting tight bottom end out of either of them, but are they any improvement on the usual Peavey Microbass, Marshall 15 etc ?
And do they handle active basses OK ?

Which ever amp I do settle on isn't going to be used with drums, so volume isn't an issue. Money unfortunately is, or I'd be looking for something a lot more expensive but still small, like a Phil Jones, EA, etc.

Any Cube owners care to comment ?

When I had to choose, I went with the micro cube. All I needed was a good small practice amp for the house, and what clinched it for me was the tuner and drum machine. All I need to practice and learn new songs is the rx, a lead and a bass. It handles my westone thunder active bass, which gives hotter output than anything else i've ever had.
Forget about volume though, and the low end of the cube 30 is far superior.
