output at 8ohm

what output would you get with a 500watt at 2ohm head going into a 8ohm cab?

Depends on the am and how it drives it power as far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong).

its my B5R head brother.

It has its ouput at 2 and 4 ohm in the manual, but nothing for 8 ohm.

ideally i would have prefered 4ohm cabs, however ive been using a 15" at rehearsals and i like it, there is 15" ampeg for sale the noo so just checking out some details.

I'm not familiar with that head and the work PC makes searching for things a bit awkward.
If it's a valve head, IE not just a preamp valve but vales in the power section, you don't want to under-load it any more than you'd want to overload it.
If it's transistor, go ahead and fill your boots with the 8 ohm cab

You do realise you could pop 2 of those 15" cabs under your 4x10 & run the lot off your amp*.



* provided both 15s are 8 ohm & your 4x10 is 4 ohm.
