Reading all the posts re technique, gear etc It got me thinking; is there any interest in a DB get together, perhaps in the M25 area ( or wherever)? This would not necessarily be an annual thing (or it might?), probably early next year.

Any interest? and please indicate the sort of area you would like to meet up at.

Well, isn't that just the point?

Count me in. Would love to play loads of other double basses for comparisons sake, just to see how mine competes in terms of playability and tone. And to hear all the different amp set ups availabel etc. Sounds line a great idea.

Hopefully it would be too difficult to create that kind of racket and we could hear some nicely played acoustic action instead :)

Yes perhaps some technique etc for us complete DB idiots would be good.

Oxon good for me even though it would mean straying into Bandit country, pehaps South Bucks area or even M4 corridor.

Thanks for the great response, guys, keep it coming. It may be geographically impossible to satisfy everyone and perhaps someone may have to run a northern meet. But we'll see how the responses work out. Now, if thisnameistaken could bring his two friends........................................................

South Midlands would work for me, as would Hampshire/ west side of the M25. I'm desperatley trying to avoid spending some money on a real proper DB so I reckon a room full of the buggers should do the trick nicely :)
