Alien
Fully two thirds of the tweeter frequency range is above where it offers any benefit with bass.... The primary reason why tweeters are offered instead of midrange drivers is cost.
I may have said this before, but here goes. A while back, I had a chance to play with a high end stereo crossover that I cascaded to make a single 96dB/Octave channel. Playing with the crossover frequencies I determined that there's almost nothing coming out of your bass above 8kHz (slapping, snapping and popping with brand new strings), and very little useful output above 5-6 kHz. Cabs with a top end of 22kHz is crazy, there's nothing up there but hiss. If you have a good quality mid, like Alex's Big One or one of Greenboy's fEarful cabs use, you'll have all the useable top you'll ever need.
