Stu-khag
Hi guys, I've been doing some work over the past few weeks for a few events with the national orchestra of wales. today, I noticed a lot of the basses have what I can only describe as a clamped on piece to the headstock which extends the e string? Can anyone explain? When I saw it on one I assumed it was a very old bass and the neck/headstock needed help but then I noticed all of them had the same kind of device attached. google has come up with nothing! zero9
It allows the E to be dropped to a C, using a simple lever type system (not dissimilar to the Kubicki dropped D system).

zero9
No probs, I believe it's commonly known as a 'C-extension' Wil
