King Tut Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Nice! I got rid of my RW Precision when my Floyd band split. Now I'm in another one I soooo wish I'd kept it! Quote
ezbass Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Nice, good work! Certainly nicer than the new Fender MIM RW sig bass (IMO of course). Quote
Doctor J Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 It's nice alright, but it looks more like a JJ Burnel sig Quote
The Dark Lord Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 It's beautiful. Love the neck tint. Pitty it's not string thru. Quote
FlatEric Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Hi. Only just spotted this. Great finish - great result. Quote

jezzaboy Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 That is quite simply one of the nicest looking P bass`s I have seen. I love the way that the headstock is a darker colour than the rest of the neck. Did the guy do that effect for you? If so, he`s well talented. Jez Quote

Jez
Yeah, he did it to resemble a few years of ageing, for some reason head stocks always seem darker than fingerboards, so although it looks quite a contrast at the minute it should even out as it ages naturally. The guy is called Dave Wilson, he is a brilliant, I cant recommend him enough and wouldnt trust an instrument to anyone else really. Daves site I love the bass, always loved P basses but never liked the sound of them when i play one but this sounds great, really deep and fat with definition and doesn't disappear when the band kick in. Cheers Dave Quote
LemonCello Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That does look nicer than the Roger Water's I've just ordered!! Quote
Bassman Sam Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 My dream bass. Pass the tissues :gas Quote
TheRockinRoadie Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Looks fantastic! Much, MUCH better than the new RW sig! Its time like this that i wish my Precision had a maple neck/FB. Quote

StevieD_FenderP2009 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous Dave. Where did you get the headstock logo from and what tint has been used on it to achieve that beautiful finish? Quote

Cheers Dave
Actually the front of the headstock should be darker than the rest - apparently they used a different lacquerfor the front - something to do with chemical reaction with the decal - consequently the front goes a lot darker than the rest. As for 'The' PF tribute band - I think you'll find that's mine . . . . 'This One's Pink' LOL Something old . . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flVmVWGpdw8 Something old but not as old as . . . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85rMkXPcfMU That's my very talented son on guitar. On the Comfortably Numb vid he's playing a Jap strat that he bought off here (the smelly black refin if anyone remembers) that he's finished himself in (I think) Peugeot red LOL! Anyroadup - nice job on the bass - looks lovely! Roger, sorry Tony, sorry Guy . . . . . . Col Quote
