Happy Jack
Yes, but arguably not outrageously so. I bought one exactly like that but in museum condition about four years ago (I bought it for Dave Pomeroy and shipped it over to Memphis) and it cost about £400 then. This one is maybe 9/10 and believe me they're real eye-poppers when you get to hold & play one. Loads of fun and just uber-60's. I wouldn't pay £600 for it, but I wouldn't be surprised to find someone else thinking it's worth it.

Annoying Twit
Ah. With so many basses sold on ebay as RARE*RARE*RARE and COLLECTORS ITEM!!!!!!!!!, I just automatically discount those claims. But, it seems that this is the real deal. Cool. I've got "Hagstrom bass" on my saved search list, most of what comes up is in the US, or the new ones. One day my bargain Hag will come along (only been looking 10 years so far). BigRedX
I had the Futurama badged version of this in red in absolutely perfect condition back in 1982. Sold it for £35 which went towards buying a second hand Roland SH09 synth. IMO the bass looked brilliant but sounded terrible and was complete crap to play. Happy Jack
If you like the style but not the price, guess what just turned up: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hagstrom-Futurama-Vi...=item19c00c96e1
BigRedX
Not the same though... The pickguard is just the white area instead of the whole front of the bass and the back doesn't have the vinyl covering.
waynepunkdude
Could just get one of these.

For me, without the "cheese-grater" and the full perspex front and the vinyl back it's not worth having ... but the audience will never notice. Bears no resemblance worth mentioning, and not even slightly cool, but you could indeed get one of those. Do they make one in 3TS Wayne?
