Rupert Ring Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Dear Bassists Thought you might like to know that Neil Tarlton (Principal Bass of the Philharmonia) will be making a rare concerto appearance tomorrow night (9th October) at St James' Church, Piccadilly in London. Tickets are going fast, but some are still available here: http://www.corinthianorchestra.org.uk/ At the concert, we will also be launching a new Trust Fund in memory of Dave Fletcher (ex-Principal Bass Liverpool Phil, etc etc) who I expect some of you knew. This fund aims to make an annual award to young bass players (classical bass or bass guitar) - you can find more detail on this here: http://www.davidfletchermemorialfund.co.uk/ Of course if you knew Dave, please feel free to make donations here as well - we really need everybody's help on this. I'm a Trustee of this fund, so any questions, please do contact me via this chatroom. The concert starts at 6.30pm - hope you can make it! Rupert Quote
steve-soar Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Really sad to hear about Dave Fletcher, seen him many times at the Phil, a very charismatic bass player. Quote
