Brimar 12AX7/ECC83 tubes SOLD

Recommended Posts

SOLD... [s]I have 2 Brimar 12ax7 tubes that I don't need. They work perfectly, but I'm just looking for a different sound of my quite high-gain amplifier. These tubes have enormous amount of bass, growly mids and a bit tamed highs, they also overdrive nicely and my impression is that they deliver that classic rock sound. I bought them on UK's eBay for 30 pounds + shipping which meant 37 pounds in my case. I would let them go for 35 pounds shipped to you door. According to the seller from ebay these tubes tested good and they indeed worked great on couple of gigs I used them in my amp, just not my type of sound. They will be packed very well. Any questions through pm.[/s]
Forgive my ignorance, but how does a valve produce 'growly mids'?
Like all pieces of equipment a valve has a 'sound'. Brimar, like Mullard were made in the UK and produce a rich warm sound with great bass and mid detail but with a very soft top end. The down side to this warm sound is they can sometimes sound soft and lack punch and detail. See this like for details............
