Hey everyone, after a bit of soul searching, I'm after a trade for my lovely stingray, after battling with myself last time to keep it.

The bass was born on 22nd Dec 1999, it's got a 2 band EQ, mirror scratch plate and had a new authentic maple neck with rosewood fretboard about 3 years ago. The last owner put a status graphite neck on it that I loved the look of, but didnt get on with too well, so had it swapped over and set up by Tim Stark of Mansons guitar shop in Exeter. It has Ernie Ball Slinky strings on it at the mo, which were new at christmas. It also has a hardcase.

It's been gigged so has a few dints and knocks and minor scratches, but nothing major. It plays and sounds brilliant.

Thanks for lookin'!

Have a bump on me for a fine looking bass, my favourite colour.

Trying to imagine a bass with a more powerful sound than a Stingray. Only one I could think was a Sabre!

I think this was my old bass. I put the mirror plate and graphite neck on it - must have been you that bough it from me via ebay. best Stingray 4 I owned

Hey Keir! Yes it is your old one! I've loved and cherished it since I bought it from you.... If I was a bit more flush, I would keep it, as it's crackin' for covers gigs.... We stick in alot of Rage against the machine and the like.

I loved this bass and only sold it to pay an MOT bill. I bought it ex-demo in Xmas 2000 from McCormacks Music up here in Glasgow. good to hear you kept it so long - only 2 owners in 11 years is pretty good going. And it looks better to me with the rosewood board than the all maple neck it originally had.

and if you're in Mansons anytime soon say hello to Tim (we went to college together back in the mid 90s)

good luck with the trade!

Cool, thanks for filling in the history. It's a small world, Tim is quite a good mate of mine and my band mates. He only lives down the road from me. Will mention your name next time I see him!

Take care mate!

Hello mate, thanks for the offer..... I think I've sorta set my heart on a Jazz or P 5....Then get some Bare Knuckle Pickups in there.... *Snarl Snarl*

I knew someone would ask about that badboy! It's long gone I'm afraid.

My personally opinion is that the maple neck is alot brighter and easier to play.... I used to get savage hand ache from it.

Looked wicked though!

Sorry, I can't help it, this is such a nice bass, if I had a Jazz 5 you could have it straight away, and I'd be in no doubt who came off best.

Ever thought of a Hipshot to pop it down on occasion? I have one on my Stingray set to C Sharp for a particular song, works really well. Not keen on too much low noting but definitely keen on Stingray sounds!

It is a cracking bass for sure, I'd rather buy something and keep the ray, but funds don't allow.... It drops down nicely to C and D, but the stuff we are doing in the band at the mo demand constant lows and it would be alot easier to stick another string on it. Got someone coming to have a look at it tomorrow to see if he likes it, don't worry, it's a basschatter!

BUMP!

I love this bass! By far the nicest looking stingray I have ever seen, and has that classic sound. Chris let me play this almost all evening (I couldn't put it down) - brilliant neck, no issues with a weak G string at all. First class Musicman - wish I could afford it. Top bass mate!
