Clarky
First gig is approaching fast and we don't have our first rehearsal until next weekend. Eeek! Apparently there could be as many as 14 of us on stage including backing singers, horns, stilt-wearing souzaphone player, and various burlesque/circus type performers (fire breathers etc). Bit different to my punk trio Here's a link to the Gigs post with flyer http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry983396
Gareth Hughes
Good luck Clarky - and bring an electric with you just in case!!! Might seem like an extreme thing to say, but if you're hands decide they've had enough you might be thankful you have a plank sitting beside you with it's tooth-pick neck inviting velvety comfort. Cat Burrito
Good luck Clarky. Do you have a powerball? It'll help build your stamina for the show.

Cat Burrito
Nope, it's gyroscope http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Original-NSD-Power-B...=item2c57ccdac6 I was recommended one on these very pages when I first started playing upright & they really do help with stamina. Great fun too
Gareth Hughes
+1 on the Powerball. I started using one a few years ago and they're great at getting the blood flowing through your forearm. Like warming up on the upright for ten minutes without annoying anyone - well, in a different way then.
Clarky
This Powerball thingummy look like a good idea. I played the whole set this afternoon (along to the CD) and my arms are both very tired. Just ordered one on eBay. Thanks chaps
