bubinga5
I believe John Shuker does a bass course on building basses...you could go there, or do the internet thing, and find al the information there...Warmouth..? the experience i have had with basses that are already built is a confusing road, whether it be pups, pe amps, body woods......research is everything...knowledge in this is much harder to come by...if you enjoy it, go for it....i would love to be employed by a luthier for some training program... gelfin
If it's any help I did my first on the fly so to speak. I started off with the idea of building my own (copy) Mouradian but as you can see from this pic I got a bit carried away. I suggest you get an off the shelf neck or s/h and experiment from there. Dom in Dorset
Building basses is like taking crack! I made an acoustic fretless, i thought I could handle it but before i knew it i'd started on twin neck. now I'm into the hard stuff, I've got a five string in the pipeline and a headless acoustic twin neck ,a thru neck active jazz etc ect
