bassmeg Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 SWEET Got any BC discount and BINs? Not for me but, youll get some good interest from buyers here. Welcome and good luck. Quote
adledman Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 hi and good luck with your sales. i personally think you are mad not to offer postage as it cuts your market down to local buyers. buyers pay for the postage which these days it not much and its up to them if they want to insure it. you should at least offer the chance for people to arrange their own carriage but make sure its at their risk. if the basses have hard cases you will not be taking any risks. i have seen so many times a bass sit on ebay for months with pick up only. hope you dont think i am being nosey and good luck all the same. BoomBass Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Yeah, I buy and sell a lot of basses in my quest for finding the perfect basses (for me). I have sent/received more than 30 basses over the last 2 years, and as long as you put it in a hard case (pack it up inside with bubble wrap) and put the hard case inside a solid card board box, there is virtually no risk. I have never had any shipping problems of any kind! Definitely offer postage if you want to sell. Quote

I will rethink on the postage idea Just found out that I've only got one hardcase (fretless) Edited October 13, 2010 by Girlie Quote
adledman Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 just another note. i have had basses sent from america in soft cases in a cardboard box with no probs at all. my local music shop is very helpful with old boxes they are usually eager to give them away. top end basses are selling a bit on the slow side at the mo` so worth giving as many options as you can. next day delivery in a heavy box anywhere in the uk by courier £6.87 plus insurance if they feel the need. My Goth thunderbird arrived from the US with the neck off the body to keep shipping down. There is a sticky that shows you how to pack a bass and I'm sure it goes into detail about how to do it if you have no case or bag for it as well. Now's also a good time to offer postage to Europe as well as the Euro to the Pound is terrible for us but great for countries that use the Euro Quote
