Jigster
not sure if there have been any recent threads re. this - BUT, can anyone recommend any good uns? It's for a passive Yamaha BBN5 - looking for something with vintage feel, have trawled through various brands, and can see plenty for 4 string, but struggling to identify viable pups that do the 5 string thing thanks for any help

Jigster
I got the feeling from things I've read that Nordstrands are a little more modern sounding??

hubrad
Bartolini do some good J pickups; you need to make sure you get the specific 5 string models with either one coil right across or two coils (end to end) slightly imbalanced so as to cover the middle string. Their 4 string end to end hum cancelling one has a wee gap between the coils so is weak for the A.
