jazz pickups

hey
i have a jazz bass and the neck pickup is dying i was wondering if i should just have the bridge in til i can find a new jazz set?

the pick up is very old i think the coil around the magnet is snapped of some where

i found the break in the coil all fixed lol only took me 10 mins lol silly me
