TommyK Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Aaaggghhhhhhrrrrrrr!!!! I Want so badly... No money..... Will you trade for some magic beans?
stingrayPete1977 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 One of the times you put this up I will give in! Would you trade for another EBMM plus the cash your way obviously?
Delberthot Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 i totally agree with you about it being the best Stingray ever - the mahogany body gives it added growl. i sold mine for exactly the same reason: fantastic bass, very well made, sounds fantastic but I don't want to take it to my local to gig with it. Fine if you are playing big stages or doing a lot of studio work well out of the sweaty reach of the anebriated and unpredictable

Doing a lot of Jamnights and rough pubs at the mo. I've just got a cheap Jazz for the real toilets but find that my Status is getting far too much use for everything else and could do with a similar quality backup/alternative.

Schnozzalee Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'd use it live, i'd only collect the really old stuff and use anything new till I got my £1200 worth out of it. They'll make a bass out of stainless steel or something one day and it'll make all our basses redundant a worthless like the old Hofners - You've all seen the Gibson robot!!
Jimelliottbassist Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010
A few interesting trade offers but nothing that has enticed this baby away just yet....
This is my old bass! Lovely warm and punchy sound!!

tividalebass Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Could I interest you with a spector euro 4lx http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry983708

Cheers, all the same.
martthebass Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Bump for revised 'for sale' conditions
tombboy Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Wierd how things come about!! I was the first UK owner of this baby and it is a superb example of a Stingray. Seems strange now that I am promoting this sale to allow Mart to buy my Sandberg!!
martthebass Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Bumped for lowered and FINAL price.
Noisyjon Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 BUMP for a stunning bass at a GREAT price. Wish I'd waited a few years before buying mine from new!
martthebass Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010
BUMP for a stunning bass at a GREAT price. Gig at a rough pup tonight so the Epiphone EB0 gets the 'honours' while this stays snug and safe in it's HSC.

GremlinAndy Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Are you still *not* looking for a cash sale? Just asking cos I have nothing to swap and this looks lovely. ...and damnit I just saw you're in SY.

Seriously, will someone please hurry up and buy this before i go crazy, then buy that classic ray as well and post a statement about how they are both NEVER going to be for sale again!!! Many thanks..
stingrayPete1977 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 She is from your neck of the woods (Prestwich) and has a bit of that northern saving for a rainy day attitude which to me is all the more reason to own three different Stingrays to play on those rainy days!
martthebass Posted October 31, 2010 Author Posted October 31, 2010 Don't want to mess T about so anyone who's interested please pm as I'm going to close this off soon. Cheers, Mart
