Delberthot Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 In my search for a valve overdrive/distortion I came across this http://damagecontrolusa.com/products/solid-metal/ Anyone here tried this before? Certainly sounds interesting Quote
Tuco Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 i didnt think damage control were still in production...........? for what its worth , their demonizer is AMAZING !! Quote
krispn Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) My old guitar player had one - a lot of bass response present and it was designed to give that tight low end rhythm for guitar. Might be too bass heavy for the 4 and 5 stringers but he wouldn't let me try it. However Damage Control gear is solid and they do a range of dirt boxes with varying degrees of grind but have been discontinued now. Worth checking them out if you can find them. GarethFlatlands Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 My friend has/had one. Very tight, thick sound on the guitar, very much like a cranked tube amp. Not tried it on bass. Quote
Finbar Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Let's whip Stu's out and test it. I'm sure he still has it Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Quite possibly. Ask him to bring it down tomorrow! Quote
