If so, do you recommend lighter gauge strings as I'm concerned that tuning up to A on the top string put too much tension on the neck of a J-bass? bartelby Posted October 18, 2010 Share Posted October 18, 2010 I have used that tuning with Billy Sheehan sig strings, fairly well. The 110 E keeps decent tension down to D, and the 43 G tunes up well. I know Alexander Hacke (of Einstürzende Neubauten) uses DADA on his Thunderbird.
