7string Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Here's the new addition to the bass family. A Dingwall Combustion 5. After not being able to get on with the narrow string spacing of my Carvin 5 string, I sold it (and one of my guitars) to buy myself a replacement. My wife had the chance to go to Florida with friends and their family and this seemed the perfect opportunity to get the new bass. After a bucketload of research, I plumped on a Dingwall Combustion 5. It took a while to track one down as they seemed to be being sold as quickly as they were in stock, but I got there in the end. Superb service from George and Chris at Bass San Diego. Thanks guys So here she is. My wife has appropriately named her "Disney" Quote

simon1964 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 That looks fantastic! I've never played one - how easy are the fanned frets to get used to? Quote
cetera Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 That's a beauty mate! Has one too many strings for me though... Quote
merello Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I can confirm that this is a beautiful bass and the B-string sings....... ...surely a name change from 7string required! Quote
7string Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 ....and the fanned frets weren't that bad were they Quote
merello Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 The name 'Disney' worries me as in Scottish slang it translates as 'does not' as in 'It disney work!' Quote
