The single oddest thing about this is that the listing doesn't say "Fender". Anywhere.

Anyway, I am no Fender expert, but I know my copies, & would like to think I could spot a shonky fake-up. However, this looks kosher to me - are my eyes playing tricks?

+1, i reckon the guy just doesn't know ebay and possibly just wants what he paid for it. It looks all good except the difference in coating from the front headstock to the rear. I havn't seen that on a fender before. Otherwise i wish i had the funds for it

The colour difference is quite common really. The front of the headstock was finished in nitro, so it ages more than the rest of the neck.

But yeah, looks kosher to me as well.

Looks genuine to me, as well.

I've got a '72 and the front of the head is a much darker shade - I have a friend
who also has a '72 and his is the same.

The pick guard looks correct, as well.

OK, who's going after it then?? :)

I wouldn't bother mate ... it looks as "heavy as f**k to me".

Except that the higher he pushes the opening price, the less likely anyone is to bid on it.

Has the back of the neck been sanded/cleaned up? It looks like typical age related 'crud' is tucked in near the tuner plates but the neck n headstock look silky white.

Speaking of silky white... :) how much for the Mrs. Michael? I've worn mine out carrying gear and I could do with a new one!
