Josh Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) Hey all, Just wondering, I've been lsitening to "Move on Up" by Curtis Mayfield and I swear it's Jamerson on bass, or am I wrong?? Edited August 11, 2007 by Josh Quote
Hamster Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Don't think it was. More likely to have been Samuel Gooden. Hamster Quote
beerdragon Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 He played on the Destinations version of it, around 1979. maybe it was Bob babitt. Quote
Josh Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Thanks guys, it's just that P-Bass tone is so prominent that I instantly thought Jamerson, but he has been noted for playing with Curtis Mayfield but I can't find anything else. Quote

Hamster
Gooden was the bass singer with the Impressions, who Mayfield split with in 1969/1970 Bass on a lot of CMs early material was played by Joseph 'Lucky' Scott, but I haven't been able to confirm that he played on Move on Up.
