Curtis Mayfield's "Move on Up", Who Dunn'it?....

Hey all,

Just wondering, I've been lsitening to "Move on Up" by Curtis Mayfield and I swear it's Jamerson on bass, or am I wrong??

Don't think it was. More likely to have been Samuel Gooden.

He played on the Destinations version of it, around 1979. maybe it was Bob babitt.

Thanks guys, it's just that P-Bass tone is so prominent that I instantly thought Jamerson, but he has been noted for playing with Curtis Mayfield but I can't find anything else.

Gooden was the bass [i]singer[/i] with the Impressions, who Mayfield split with in 1969/1970

Bass on a lot of CMs early material was played by Joseph 'Lucky' Scott, but I haven't been able to confirm that he played on Move on Up.
