velvetkevorkian
Unless they've expanded or have more than one stage, then the answers are small, not much and I don't know, respectively. Never played there and only been there once that I can recall, but it's definitely... cosy.
Bassassin
The Box? Played there a few years ago. It is small, don't know if the layout's changed but the stage was right up at the window so passers-by could see the drummer's arse as they strolled by. But yeah - cosy is a good description. I guess Gun don't attract the punters these days... Jon.
elephantstone
Yep definately small! right at the entrance against the window. it is a raised stage though.
wingnutkj
If you're looking for music shops, the best bet's to head to the Merchant City area of the town. There's Guitar Guitar on Argyle Street, Merchant City Music on Garth Street and Strung Out at King's Court, all within a few minutes walk of each other. Up the other end of town where The Box is, Biggars is a few blocks down Sauchiehall Street. If they don't give you food in The Box, pop a few doors along to Nice N Sleazy for a Sleazyburger - they're great!
rmshaw37
That's some cracking info - shame about the stage but hey! May well take a venture to the other side of town Saturday morning Thanks
thepurpleblob
It's one of those two-hundred-bands-you-have-never-heard-of-a-night stylee places. Think small bar with small stage. An honourable mention to CC Music over in the West End (Otago Street) BTW. If you want something decent to eat, Nanakusa is very good (more or less next door) and the crappy looking Noode Bar right across the road does big plates of dead-good Chinese. joerattray
Gun are playing in Box? That's a weird one. The next gig of theirs I can find listed is the ABC2 in December.

Of those bands the only one I know of is Attica Rage - fine Glasgow metal band, been knocking around the scene for yonks. So who's paying your travel/accomodation for a little Glasgow club gig, then? rmshaw37
The promoter did, it's the warm up show for hard rock hell, us 4 Friday night then 12, YES 12 bands battling for a place today. Apparently it's a 10 minute changeover! By the way, small stage doesn't begin to describe it! Plus we had to walk the entire length of the rammed narrow pub with our gear to do change over! Saying that, was a cracking gig.
