1976fenderhead
...to put after dynamic-killing fuzzes? Something that excites the louder sounds and quietens the quieter to increase the difference, even that difference as it is is quite subtle? Is there such an effect? I believe I have something like that in Logic but is there a pedal?
ahpook
i think you'd be hard-pressed to find a pedal that will bring the dynamics back after a fuzz pedal - by their very nature most fuzzes are limiters. but the opposite of a compressor would be an expander...electro harmonix made one for bass called the 'steel leather'
51m0n
You cant put back what a limiting/extreme compression device has taken out really. Your best bet maybe a parallel unfuzzed path? Or if you want to be devious you could possibly side chain an expander from the clean signal before the fuzz, but put it after the fuzz. It may just be possible with extreme tweakage to get that to help some, maybe, but I'm not willing to guarantee it at all.... On second thoughts that wont work. Technically the Steel Leather is the exact opposite of a compressor.
