smurfitt Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hi, I know they come with Ernie Balls but is there a thinner string that won't flap about and will give me a decent tone? Just wondered what anyone else preferred. Cheers Quote
WHUFC BASS Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 DR Hi-beams. Its what I've got on my Ray34 Quote
Prime_BASS Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Flap about? Anything of a higher gauge might do. Quote
mcnach Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I use D'Addario EXL170 (45, 65, 80, 100) in my OLPs and my Stingray. That's light, but sounds great to me. Quote
OliverBlackman Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I play mostly pop/funk/disco/soul and i really like the "dead" bass boomers tone on my stingray. And it took them only a week to go dead Quote
Laurence Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I get an amazing tone using DR Hi-Beams Flats: 45-100!! Quote

Bought some Hi-Beams once because of the hype.... fecking hated them - they were too middley. Quote
