I like this a lot - my only concern would be that it could introduce mains hum into the signal

Crazy price, I got a couple of them from Hong Kong for a fraction of that! They're great for lighting up pedalboards too - I'll find a pic later.

Cute idea but I think it would only work with guitar and bass rigs that were the same height on stage. Also, if you're going to raise the standards of lighting for your amp then it will also look weird if you don't do the same for back lighting the wall behind you, the drummer and the keyboardists (if you have one) just so there's some consistency...not as simple in execution as it appears.

The description says it's a DC supply so would not induce and mains born noise, even if it were very close to signal cabling etc.

Steve, who gives a monkeys about the rest of the band - it's the Bass gear that is the most important on the stage!! :)

I too like these, not only do they look cool, but they could also be functional!

TBH for the cost of a few LED's and resistors, it should be pretty easy to knock some up.

I will have a look/play, see what i can knock up!

+1!

If you search for LED strip on ebay it comes up with loads of 12v ones for cars to power via your cigarette lighter, so it should be pretty easy to wire a connector for a 12v dc plug.
