oldslapper
I bought a Spector NS94 and the bass extender doesn't work, not worried as I would never use it. I've tried to remove the machine head from the headstock. But the screw head that holds it to the rear of the headstock is completely covered by the extender part. It has a "cap", which if I could get off I could get to the screw head, but I can't remove the cap at at all. Very annoying! Problem is that the machine head has developed an annoying rattle due to the extender not fitting properly. Any clues before I take this to a tech and spend a load of money I don't have? Many thanks John Edited October 23, 2010 by oldslapper
Mr. Foxen
Does the lever have a hole in for an allen key? Removing that should allow the whole tuner part to free rotate and move out of the way.
BottomEndian
Have you dismantled the whole Xtender assembly? It's just a question of undoing the Phillips screw in the middle (Phillips screw "A" in this PDF). Everything just falls off the base plate then, and you should be able to unscrew it no trouble.
