eubassix Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) This was - or became - something of a project bass (when I discovered that the original pickup wasn't working fully). Tried for an original but hard-to-find and opted instead for a Bartolini W4CBC - Classic series. Some stock photos/information etc. here:- http://www.matsumoku.org/models/ariaproii/bass/sb/sb.html This is an 82 model with 3-pc. Maple set-neck, 24 fretlines, padauk-red tinted body (body is maple), brass bridge and nut, rosewood 'board, 1x Vol, 1x Tone + coil-tap switch. The bass plays and sounds great but there's a distinct loss of volume when switching to SC - and the HB just sounds better anyway: not sure if this is the pickup (mis-match with Aria electronics?) or my wiring?!.. TBH, once I got it working well in HB I just didn't want to mess around any more (!). So it might be solve-able. I did think of epoxy coating the f/board .. but the rosewood and FL tone is just too nice as it is. But I did change the rather bright/fullgloss finish to a more subtle satin finish,. No major marks or dings, but a few smaller ones here and there. Comes with an OK gig-bag (hardcase might be hard/er to find as the body is big). [b]sold[b] Edited November 28, 2010 by eubassix
