Hi,

just a quick hello from an old newbie :)

started playing bass as a 16 year old in a school band (didn't last long !!) and have just decided to take it up again at 34

Ordered a Vintage V990 to get me started again (it was £130 and I couldn't afford a stingray) - somewhere in my loft theres an old bass amp which will be dusted off on arrival of the new toy.

quite excited about it.

Any hints, tips and general advice gratefully accepted

Hi Dan - Welcome. My first bit of advice (as you ask!) is that 34 ain't old! :) We have new players in their 50s, 60s and even 70s. Bring it on! I'm 37yrs young by the way. Those Vintage basses are great for the money btw

amazing - I almost feel young again !!

no doubt i'll be asking loads of questions when the Bass arrives
