backrowslea Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) Hi, Up for sad sale is my Vox standard bass, I have had it for about 17 years now, not ben played since my amp went about 5 years ago. Reason for sale is lack of use and with two small kids I am unlikely to get time to play in the next 5 years!! It does have the common fault of the e string popping out of the nut - I used a cappo to hold it in with no problems! Also I decided to go for a distressed look, this came from my days as a 15 year old thinking it would look cool to strip the paint off - I got bored and it has been 1/2 stripped ever since, I grew to love it and never got around to stripping it completely! Review of this Bass here : http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ndard+Bass/10/1 Trials welcome (although I have no leads/amp), I'm just outside of lincoln - LN43YG - I will post at buyers expense - Not worked out a price for this yet, it is a heavy bass! £75 or make me an offer Cheers for looking Mat Edited January 3, 2011 by backrowslea

Gust0o Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 It looks like it's got a lot of character, chief. I think this wil get snapped up for a bit of a restoration project, as overall it looks solid.
backrowslea Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 I can vouch for it being solid! It is a hefty beast!!!
kurcatovium Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Bargain! The pickup alone is worth nearly the asking price.
MoonBassAlpha Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I did the same with mine and defretted it on the suspicion it would make a nice fretless. It sure as hell did! Solid stuff for no money - what's not to like!
backrowslea Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Saturday bump... Starting to think I should put the price up!!!
Bassassin Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Nice, cheap, easily restorable bit of vintage good-quality 80s JapCrap. If you'd post it, you'd sell it. Jon.
