Happy Jack
C'mon Spiny, play fair. That £100 example was actually a FENDER SQIUER which probably accounts for it going for such a silly price. Someone got a real bargain there. I used to have a variety of typo-searches saved for exactly this reason, but I deleted them when vendors started deliberately using typos to give the impression that you were onto something. gjones
MIJ Silver series squiers are excellent basses. Since I played a friends 92 jazz bass I was looking for a decent example on ebay and eventually bought one a year or so ago. Sound and build quality are great and it's well worth the £250 I paid for it. Don't know much about the precisions though but I assume they're of a similair quality. Japanese Fenders are never shoddily made. Edited October 30, 2010 by gjones
spinynorman
£77 and less than 24hrs to go on this one. Not as pretty as the sunbursts (I think) ... Check out no 'Silver Series' logo on the headstock. The seller says it's a silver series because Squier is in silver letters. Is that correct? Is that correct?[/quote] Apart from the lack of logo and the knobs (which should be flat topped) it looks like a Silver Series, and appears to say Made in Japan on the headstock (though it's quite hard to see). But I didn't think the Silver Series started up until a bit later - in fact I don't think any japanese squiers were being sold in this country in 1990. So it's a bit of mystery. Perhaps it's an imported domestic model? You're right to doubt the colour of the logo making it a Silver Series - it doesn't. It's just another of those internet myths, just like the story that ones with gold logos are 'Gold Series'.

I'm not sure that it *technically* makes it a Silver Series, but it seems reasonable to assume that the construction is the same. It doubt it's going to stay at it's current price but it still might end up being a bargain for a MIJ squier.
