Behringer - up the swanny?

Has anyone else noticed that most online shops have no or little stock of anything Behringer right now and most are quoting estimated arrival as next year?

This thread is not to bash Behringer, merely to see if anyone knows anything.

I'm not sure if they have a UK distributor - Korg were meant to be taking over that role, but that got pulled even before it started.....

Couple of days ago I received a mail from 'Grant at Korg' offering discounted behringer gear from the Behringer Distributor Clearence (sic) shop on ebay. Which I couldn't find.

Behringer indeed did pull the deal away from Korg and have offered their own direct shipment policy to those shops/dealers large enough to handle containers worth of stock.... Korg are quite rightly so dumping stock out.... The only real sort of distribution now in the UK is via Electrovison in Liverpool

Interesting that. I was thinking that I see so many Behringer stuff about at gigs, but never really see it in shops. Now I know why.

As part of their New Year sale at the beginning of the year they were advertising SVT IIs for £800 so I thought, brilliant, just finished the Christmas gigs, big pile of money, I'll have one of those.

I emailed them to see if they had any and the guy responded by saying that he doubted that they would get any in - well don't advertise something at a fantastic price that you can't sell.

I've always thought Behringer stuff was pretty good for the money, the morally dubious quality is another thing.

Despite the supposed discount most of the gear seems to be at the same prices you'd already find it on the net. Didn't have any AD121s so I lost interest.
