solo4652
Folks, Can anybody recommend a cheap and reliable courier to collect a bass from USA and deliver to me in the UK, please? I've ploughed through the "Courier" sticky but, to be honest, finding the information I want is a bit of a needle-in-haystack task. bumnote
If its a bolt on consider having the neck removed which will make it easier to pack, and considerably cheaper. Its a long time since Ive done it and I used to use USPS but there were starting to be restrictions on the overall size of the package. As always, you get what you pay for. Companies like fedex are quick but expensive, USPS which is then passed on to parcel force are cheaper and slower. Check your insurance and dont forget to factor in the duties about 22% including on the shipping cost

From their website, cheapest USPS service (sized for neck-off packing) seems to be about $100 (£63) - cheaper than I'd thought.
lemmywinks
Have a look at Interparcel's site. They use a number of services and are substantially cheaper than going direct, they use FedEx too IIRC I got some surprisingly cheap quotes to Europe a while ago so they may be cheap for USA too
