squire
Lovely bass. Can't afford it though. I only have a jazz bass(*) to trade and I'm based in Holland, so that wouldn't trade very easily. Good luck with the sale! * http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1199/dscn1689ug5.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/797/dscn1666cb0.jpg http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3179/dscn1673st9.jpg
loweringthetone
I guess you are wrong about the date of the pots : http://home.provide.net/~cfh/pots.html CTS pots dates are 137 + two digits for year + two digits for week. Sorry but it seems that your pots are from 1980.
It's because S9*** serials are not exact, and overlap into 1980. However, this is really of no consequence . The bass is clearly late 70s build through and through and to be honest it looks a real find. You just dont get them in this condition at this price. If you can take that bit of extra weight, this looks to be a humdinger of a vintage P. Good luck with the sale

I was tempted to say "In a house and Yes!" but that would be silly. Sorry! I reside in the Loughborough/Leicester area, would be a better way to put it. Don't fancy it over the next few days but later on, if you fancy 'avin a butchers, I could arrange a meet up. Where are you?? - try not to say "sitting in front of my PC, reading this" - that would make you as silly as me! Cheers.

All the best H. Fancy a swap for a rare les paul bass? This is a very clean late 70's Precision, which according to the guy I bought it off, privately, only had one owner before him, making me only the third owner. I went through a big Precision and Jazz phase, a few years back and after I managed to get my dream Jazz, this was next on the list. I have rehearsed with it and gigged with it but only at some of the nicer venues, if you get what I mean. Didn't fancy it getting damaged! Took me AGES to find one in such good condition. These pics were taken last summer but it hasn't changed since then. I will be taking more shots and give a full description The last time it made a public outing, would be about 8 months ago and since then I have rehearsed with it a couple of times, wiped it down and put it back in the case. I have several other "P"'s and none of those have been out for a while, as I am working my way through Ibanez, Aria and Peavey T-40 etc. So, I think it is time to let it go. I am looking for £1200 for this, which comes with a std case. For another £50, it will come with one of those fancy Fender moulded cases, which is what I have carried it around in - top protection. I also have a period Fender case, which I bought to go with it and having paid for it (ouch) dare not take it out. Someone may be interested in that. As I said, more pics and description to follow. Any PM's answered before 8.30, lunch and evenings. Cheers. Bass&Case Case&Bass - Go to last page.
Subject to the usual, I have just sold my Japanese 70's Jazz. Anyone fancy this old fella? £1185.00 with one of those bullet-proof moulded fender cases. Played it last around 8 weeks ago - plugged it in, gave it 30 mins of exercise, wiped it down and put it away again. Ready to go. This year I have been slightly reducing my mahooosive excess in basses - had a lot of fun over the years but can't get round them all now. I have 3 Japanese Precisions, which get an outing now and again but even they have to take their turn. So, any takers? Cheers.
