pumkinkin
Well, after having spent about a year on the forum and bought two of my basses here (one is the ex-Randy Hope Taylor Moon MBC-5, which I later got de-fretted at the Gallery and the other is Valenti #11) I thought I should be a good boy and introduce myself before it's too late. I'm Baran, based half in London and half in a Dutch town that is officially (and unjustifiably) recognised as a city named Tilburg (long story short, I need to be in Holland due to work, my other half's in London, so I go ping-pong between the two). Gear-wise, apart from the two I bought off here I have a heavily modded (before it was mine) '78 Fender Jazz and a 5 string mid-80's Overwater Progress which I'm contemplating putting up for sale sometime soon (just the OW, Fender goes nowhere). Currently I'm playing only at home through a German made Warwick CL 112 combo and planning to get something more decent once I've sorted out my finances -or sold the Overwater. I ditched guitar and took up bass roughly ten years ago and until I moved to Holland in 2007 I gigged in clubs and festivals with some soul/funk and pop bands in my hometown (Ankara/Turkey if anyone wonders) for a couple of years, and am hoping to start playing in a band when I feel ready for that again -feeling a bit rusty after three years. Guess that should do for now. Cheers, Baran
