Hondo II Jazz - NOW WITH PICTURES

[b]Up for sale is a Hondo II Jazz. Classic jap copy from the 70's (I guess)[/b]

It is in bits at present but all the bits are there (apart from the bridge), just needs putting together and wiring up (or refinishing first)

I got this in a deal in Switzerland and don't really know much about it. The body has been resprayed black at somepoint - looks a bit like a relic/roadworn.
It has typical jazz tuners and pups. It has a brand new tort pickguard.

The neck is really nice with m.o.p inlay and it is straight with a working trussrod.

This is surplus to requirements so I have no time or inclination to get it playable for selling.

A quick update for those interested.

The bass arrived at mine today. I started knocking it together after I got the bairn of to sleep tonight. One hour's build time and a further hour setting up (truss rod's stiff) and farting about playing on it later and.... Tadah...



I'm actually stunned at how nice it plays and sounds to be honest. Big fat neck like on her, almost like a '51 P RI.
Needs a lot of remedial and cosmetic work to become one of my stable though. Watch this space.

Aye sure..... once she's been done up like.
The truth is that she's really starting to grow on me - been playing her all night and there's something about the unyielding heftyness (and the fact that despite being reassembled yesterday the neck relief was stable and she was still in perfect tune when I picked her up today) that appeals to me. Could be a keeper.
