Machines
New to me Overwater Progress III Deluxe 5 - traded with leprechaun for Bacchus Venus 5 . Not had chance to give it a play test yet but am very impressed so far ! Will take some pics of my own and get them up in Bass Porn on the weekend. Machines
Took this earlier at my parent's house - the burl maple is seriously gorgeous ! The 36" (yes, 36 !) is a bit of a stretch to the first fret, but i'm sure it will become fairly normal quite quickly. Not quite worked out the tone controls, the frequency centres aren't what i'm used to, can anyone assist on those ?
ped
Sweet Matt.. I knew you were overcompensating when you were saying how happy you were with your gear at Bass Day You'll get used to 36", remember my Bacchus was 36" and I hardly noticed. Then again I am pretty skill
Machines
Hah, the Bacchus does everything I need it to - I just like something new to look at a every few months. I don't see bass valhalla as a destination, but a journey etc..
NJE
Congratulations, this was mine before Leprechaun, great bass. As far as I can remember (could be very very wrong here) the controls are: Bottom two - Volume (pull pot to make the bridge single coil) and pickup blend Top three - 3 Band EQ, Bass Middle and Treble I presume but you will soon figure out the order if not. Not sure what you mean by frequency centres but if you have any questions ring Overwater, Chris May remembered this bass when I called him about it. I remember the EQ is very subtle on this bass, it wont give you extreme EQ. I was on the verge of having Overwaters new preamp put in before trading it, might be worth a look at if you find the EQ is not doing what you need. Enjoy the bass, I love my current Overwater. Machines
Had chance to get used to it now, the EQ is definitely not what i'm used to and is quite subtle, the EQ bands it affects are quite narrow (especially the mid). That said - the EQ doesn't really need much usage, flat - the bass sounds absolutely killer. The sustain on the B is outstanding and every string rings with amazing piano like clarity. I don't even notice the 36" scale now (except when I pick up my Jazz and it feels like a guitar) so all is good . Family photo:
