Bought some Shaller strap locks for my Squire P. The new screw is too skinny for the hole made by the old screw. Trying a fatter screw doesn't work as it won't fit through the hole in the strap lock?

Any ideas peeps?

Told by a Luthier once to add a matchstick, or a slice from it into the hole along with a little wood glue. Then use the original screw.

+1, I use three cocktail sticks, matchsticks are too soft, so it makes a hole down the middle to start off with. I was told this is the way a few luthiers do it. John Birch told me he'd drill out the hole bigger & fill it with a wooden kebab stick, then redrill the hole.
