E.H. Bass Big Muff Pi vs. Bass Blogger

Hi,

Many, many apologies if this has been done before...I can't find it but it might have been...

I have been using my MicroSynth for distortion for ages, and while it's OK, it's not ideal...

I play mostly modern function/covers at the moment as part of my function band, and there are quite a few songs that need a nice crunchy distortion, but not overpowering.

I have played a big muff pi before, but not a Bass Blogger...

Does anyone happen to have tried both, and could they give me some advice on which one would be suitable for a mild distortion that still retains the fundamental bass tone underneath.

Thanks very much

I was facing the same question a few weeks ago. I bought the Bass Big Muff after reading a comparison review in Bass Guitar magazine (annoyingly I now can't find the issue -probably filed somewhere safe.....).

They said both were very good pedals, but gave the nod to the Big Muff.

I'm very happy with it I must say - very controllable & it has a switch to mix in the 'dry' signal which works very well in retaining the bottom end.
