Alberto Rigoni
Hey guy! I've just uploaded this video tutorial / review of Sonuus i2M musicport. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tho3t7UC_Ec i2M Musicport is an audio interface (USB) with a high impedence input and it's also a fast tracking, low-latency, monophonic MIDI Converter. And.. the really cool thing is that you don't need any special pickup, like hexaphonic pickups! cheers! Alberto
mcgraham
I just watched the video. Great review! I found that it was very informative and you discussed both positive and negative points. Your review makes me want to go out and get one (probably the i2m as I can see using it for guitar a bit more I would for bass). Oh and your English is excellent! EddieG
I've got one of these, and while I do like it (and the pitch-to-midi conversion is super-speedy!), I just cant get it to trigger notes cleanly using a bass, no matter what I do. I've tried adjusting my playing considerably, playing on the neck pickup, turning the tone control down, and even pre-conditioning the signal to make it better for the i2M to track, but I still keep getting double triggered notes on it. I've tried it with every bass I've got, and nothing. I think in order to get it to work, I'll need to raise the action on my basses well beyond where I like it, and some people also advocate lighter strings, which would basically make it uncomfortable to use. I may well have to forego the midi aspect of it, and use it merely as an audio interface for Guitar Rig and Ableton. But if anyone's got any advice on how to stop double triggering, please feel free to fire in. Edited April 1, 2011 by EddieG
